Liberation Commemoration in Jersey and Guernsey (with images)

The Channel Islands were occupied by German forces from June 1940 until their liberation by British forces in May 1945. To this day the islands of Jersey and Guernsey still publicly commemorate their liberation on ‘Liberation Day’, which takes place on the 9 May each year.
